Chip & Seal Equipment
In 2024 Morris, Monroe, and Pike Townships went together to purchase Chip and Seal equipment to be able to use township employees to chip & seal our roads. In 2025 each township did about 5 miles of roadway. Morris used limestone instead of gravel, and our cost was $19,760 per mile. This is a savings of about $7000 per mile from contracting the project to a private contractor.
The Trustees are pleased with the results and will do about five to six miles each year.
Watch the announcement page on this website for details regarding 2026 projects.
Ohio Public Works Grant
Morris Township received an Ohio Public Works Grant to widen parts of McKenzie Rd. Total estimated cost is $263,132. Morris Township will pay 26% and the remaining 74% will be State Grant funding. We anticipate the work to be completed during the summer of 2026.
